“Akin in the Ensemble, Individual in the Details”

“It is a symbol of trust, stability, and steadfastness – the headquarters of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt is a mainstay of international monetary policies and, among many other important tasks, it regulates the monetary stability in the Republic of Germany.”“As a variant of the predefined urban planning requirements, we proposed an alternative concept: Instead of placing three highrises on the site perpendicular to the existing building, we divided the building volume into two highrises with four-story plinths.”“The western tower is situated perpendicular to the existing building and the eastern tower parallel. This creates a dynamic overall ensemble with clear edges and visual axes, a composition that complements and emphasizes the headquarters in a new way.”“The arrangement of the columns and the massive building cores facilitates highly flexible floor plans, which can accommodate both modern work places with an open-plan concept or classical models with separate rooms.”“The generous gastronomy pavilion opens to the existing park on the south of the site and playfully integrates the trees. A hexagonal honeycomb structure for spontaneous exchanges among colleagues or just a relaxing break on the multifaceted perimeter.”“The competition proposals for the Campus Deutsche Bundesbank were presented to the public in an extensive exhibition at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt in the spaces designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers.”P R O J E C T D E T A I L S
